The Venture Bros.

Oddly enough, though I've heard of the show plenty of times, it was not until about 3-4 weeks ago that I saw The Venture Bros for the first time. Since then, I must admit I've become a pretty rabid fan. I've got all 4 seasons on dvd now, and I am actively bummed that the show comes out at such a slow pace that I'll have a long wait for any new episodes. It's just such an effective spoof of so many different cartoons and comics, and watching through the shows in order I feel like it improved with every single season. I really don't know why it took me so long to finally watch the show, especially considering that I primarily watch comedy shows. Well in any case, I know it now, and I've had a lot of fun watching it.

  1. The show is brilliant. I've been watching it since the beginning, and I too wish it would come out faster. I don't want to ruin anything for you, so I won't go commenting about some of my favorite parts.

  3. Ah, yes. My favorite line is something like, "You saying you don't like the Zep?" That's from the one where Brock has to renew his license to kill. My favorite episode is the one where #21 and #24 are on the mission with that new, but capable henchman, and they speak as if they're in a comic book/TV series--logically concluding that they will survive because they are recurring characters. I found that brilliant, especially when it started getting to the new guy.

  4. Haha, I remember that scene. It's when the guy was commenting that for the written part of the test, all he did was draw Icarus :P

I really liked the Scooby Doo episode. And the garage sale with the "who's who of villany shopping for destroyer rays".
